“I wanted to speak of a couple of emergency situations I had where Lara just took charge and rectified the situation. An hour before trial, a scopist was locked out of CaseCatalyst for the day and I needed to find another one on very short notice. Another scopist I regularly work with was not available, but she found two for me that were available. Since I was about to go on the record and did not have much time to bring both scopists up to speed, Lara contacted my main scopist and got the contact information for the two that were going to help that day and made herself available to help them and provided them all of the case information that I had provided and that she had compiled herself and answered their questions regarding my preferences. Our job is already stressful enough and we do not have time to deal with all of that extra stuff when we are on the record, so I cannot express my gratitude enough.

“There was another instance where I had a scopist and a proofreader on my file for a big trial I was doing. Lara was proofreading for another reporter during that time which is why she was not proofreading. It was brought to my attention by the proofreader that the scopist was deleting words from the transcript and just skipping over paragraphs and basically just making a mess out of the transcript. I could not believe what I was hearing in the middle of trial. I was providing daily transcripts for this trial and I knew this transcript was going to have to be rescoped from start to finish. My main scopist, who was scoping for another reporter, and Lara joined the file at the end of both of their workdays to help me redo the file. All three of us worked together to get that transcript out that same day. We are all in different time zones, and they both probably had other responsibilities after their long workday, but they helped me instead. It brought tears to my eyes.
